However, this contract extension did not prevent the Limburger from suffering from a severe bout of flu. Reportedly, he had a fever of 39 degrees on the day of the race. Did this affect his misjudgement on the first lap? It would come as no surprise to us. Let’s at least hope he puts in a better performance at Monza. Last year, at any rate, things went well, as he crossed the finish line first.

You’re not even twenty years old, yet you’re set to start a Grand Prix in your own country as the championship leader. That’s what lies in store for Kimi Antonelli this weekend. With a lead of no fewer than 59 points over his team-mate George Russell, he’s aiming for what would be his seventh victory of the season. He is hoping to perform better than he did a year ago, when he finished ninth after exceeding the track limits on several occasions. Will he manage it this year? And will he once again outdo the competition?

New contract for Lando Norris

It wasn’t just Max Verstappen who provided some clarity. Lando Norris has also extended his contract. Last year, he managed to become world champion alongside his team, McLaren. After a somewhat difficult start, things have been going a lot better for the still-young Brit in recent weeks. This, combined with the confidence he has built up over the years, means that Lando Norris will be driving for the Papayas until 2030.

Did you know that the Monza Grand Prix is also known as the ‘Temple of Speed’? The history of the Italian Grand Prix. One thing is clear: Monza is steeped in Formula 1 history. The circuit opened in 1922 and is renowned for its long straights and extremely high speeds. Michael Schumacher and Lewis Hamilton are the record holders, with five wins each, whilst Ferrari is the most successful constructor with twenty victories. It is no coincidence that the entire circuit is painted Ferrari red.
