1. Purpose
Oranje Palace is committed to protecting your privacy. The purpose of this policy is to explain to you the processing of personal data about you and to inform you about your rights.
2. Personal data
Personal data is any data that refers to you as an identified or identifiable person. This can include your name, address, date of birth, bank account number, and your IP address among others. In order for you to be able to use our services, we need to collect personal data about you.
Oranje Palace is responsible for the processing of your personal data. We aim to protect your privacy and apply appropriate security standards to keep it save.
3. Which personal data do we process?
Oranje Palace aims to provide you with the best possible service. We need your personal data to ensure you can make use of our services. Before you can take part in the games that Oranje Palace offers on its website, you first have to create a player account. To do so you have to provide Oranje Palace with the following details:
- your surname, forename or forenames, date of birth and place of birth;
- your age;
- your residential address and contact details, including your email address and telephone number;
- your personal public service number (Burgerservicenummer - BSN);
- your bank account number and the name on the account.
When you have successfully created a player account, Oranje Palace saves the date and time at which the player account has been created. Your request to create a player account can be refused. 4. What does Oranje Palace use your personal data for?
On the basis of your name, date of birth, bank account number, BSN and your place of birth, if applicable, Oranje Palace verifies your identity and checks whether you are registered with the central exclusion register for games of chance (Centraal Register Uitsluiting Kansspelen - CRUKS). After verification via CRUKS, your BSN will not be retained longer than necessary to carry out this check and will be deleted or made inaccessible in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.
Oranje Palace needs these details to be able to identify you and carry out other checks. These analyses and checks are used to protect you and to prevent gambling addiction, money whitewashing, the financing of terrorism and fraud.
The legislation and regulations oblige Oranje Palace to assess whether you can cause harm to yourself or those around you by excessive participation in games of chance. Oranje Palace asks you to specify the limits of your playing behaviour during the creation of the player account. You must specify:
- maximum playing time (session limit);
- deposits (deposit limit);
- balance (balance limit).
Oranje Palace has to check whether there are objections against the creation of a player account on the basis of legislation such as the Act on the Prevention of Money Laundering and Financing of Terrorism (WWFT) and the Sanctions Act 1977. That means, among other things, that Oranje Palace must assess whether your participation in a game will be used for money laundering, the financing of terrorism, infringement of sanctions regulations or fraud.
5. Participation in games
To be able to take part in a game via the website you have to create a player account.
You may have to provide additional details before you can play particular games or can take part in certain promotions. For the creation and maintenance of your player account Oranje Palace registers:
- the balance on your player account;
- the date and time of the transaction (a deposit or payment) and the amount;
- all transactions on your player account
6. Details that Oranje Palace collects about your participation in a game.
Oranje Palace collects the following details about your participation in a game:
- date and time of your playing round (start, amount of bet and end);
- the bets and outcome in your playing round;
- the amount of your winnings during a playing round;
- the amount you owe for participation in the game.
7. What does Oranje Palace use this personal data for, and what does it do with it?
Oranje Palace uses this data for various purposes.
The details are needed for Oranje Palace in order to provide you with our services and for participation in the game. Oranje Palace processes the payment details of your bank account so you can place bets and Oranje Palace can credit and debit your player account.
Oranje Palace is required by law to save certain details of your playing behaviour and in this way create a player profile. Oranje Palace processes the details of your playing behaviour in order to be able to reconstruct the progression of every game. We need to do this to be able to comply with our reporting obligations.
8. On what legal bases do we process your personal data?
With:
- performance of a contract;
- legal obligations (KOA, WWFT, Sanctions Act);
- legitimate interest;
- consent for marketing.
9. Gambling addiction prevention policy
As stated above, Oranje Palace is legally obliged to analyse your playing behaviour. This obligation serves to protect you from gambling addiction and to prevent you or those around you from suffering financial or other damage. For this purpose, Oranje Palace uses the data created by your use of the website and your participation in our games, as well as the data you have provided to us.
If Oranje Palace has a reasonable suspicion of excessive participation in games or gambling addiction, one of our employees will discuss your behaviour with you in a personal interview. To the extent permitted by law and strictly necessary to comply with our duty of care and legal obligations regarding addiction prevention, Oranje Palace may process limited data relating to your health.
A possible consequence of this personal interview may be that you temporarily or permanently exclude yourself from participation in the website, or that Oranje Palace does so on your behalf. In such cases, Oranje Palace records the duration of the exclusion. In a personal interview, the following is recorded in any event:
- your identity;
- the date, time and reason for the personal interview;
- a business summary of the conversation;
- your reaction to the personal interview;
- the conclusions you draw from the results of the investigation conducted by Oranje Palace into your playing behaviour;
- the intervention measures, if any, that Oranje Palace has taken prior to the personal interview;
- the measures that follow on from the personal interview.
10. Control data base
Oranje Palace is also legally obliged to set up a a so called ‘Control Data Base’ (CDB) that is used for mandatory reporting to authorities. Government organisations such as the Dutch Gambling Authority and the Tax Authority may use this monitoring database to supervise Oranje Palace. Various details about your playing behaviour are recorded in the CDB, such as:
- a pseudonymised unique identifier for you as a player;
- the date, time and nature of any change to and exceedance of the limits of your player profile;
- the reason for and the date, time and nature of every intervention;
- the date and time of all your requests for credit that Oranje Palace has refused because you used an incorrect payment instrument;
- the date, time, amount and nature of every credit and debit to each player account and the nature of the payment instrument used for this;
- amounts that have not been credited in favour of your contra-account;
- the total stakes and winnings per game type and the total amount of any payment.
11. Cookies used during the visit to the website
When you visit the website and take part in games, Oranje Palace makes use of cookies. Cookies are small text files that are stored on your computer, tablet or smartphone with every visit to the website. They store information about your profile and whether you are logged in. 12. Communication from Oranje Palace
Oranje Palace would like to communicate with you about its products and services. This can be via e-mail, telephone, text message, post or other communication channels. You can always unsubscribe at any time so you no longer receive commercial communications from us: You can unsubscribe in one of the following ways:
- by clicking on the 'unsubscribe' link at the bottom of e-mails sent by Oranje Palace;
- by using the contact form on the Oranje Palace website to indicate that you no longer wish to receive commercial communications from Oranje Palace;
- by accessing your player account, go to my details and edit your choices there.
Once you have unsubscribed from receiving commercial communications, Oranje Palace will remove you from the mailing list as soon as possible. This normally takes place within 1 to 3 working days. It may be that due to the processing time and production schedules you still receive communications that were already in production one last time.
13. Disclosure of your personal data to third parties
Oranje Palace is legally obliged to draw up reports on, among other things, gaming behaviour, combating gambling addiction, consumer protection and complaints it has received. These reports may contain personal data about you. Oranje Palace issues these reports in a secure way to parties that are entitled to them by law, such as the Dutch Gaming Authority and the Dutch Central Bank. Other reasons why Oranje Palace may disclose your personal data to third parties can include: to comply with laws and regulations, due to legal proceedings, on the order of the police/judiciary or to comply with a court order or other enforcement order. As far as possible and legally permitted, Oranje Palace will anonymise or pseudonymise your data.
Oranje Palace makes use of the services of external companies, subcontractors and/or suppliers. If these third parties perform specific tasks or assignments at the request of Oranje Palace and process personal data in doing so, they qualify as ‘data processors’ within the meaning of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Oranje Palace enters into a processor agreement with these entities and holds them to the same security standard as it adheres to itself and binds them to comply with the GDPR.
Where processors are outside of the EU/EEA area, Oranje Palace uses either adequacy decisions issued by the European Commission or where no such decision exists, Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs).
For the operation of our sportsbook, we share personal data with Kambi Group plc. Kambi processes this data, together with sports data, among other things for the generation of odds, conducting risk analyses, detecting unusual betting patterns, and safeguarding the integrity of sports (including the prevention of match-fixing). 14. The retention periods applied by Oranje Palace
Certain data is retained for statutory retention periods of up to several years on the basis of gambling legislation, tax legislation, and anti-money laundering laws. Oranje Palace is legally required to store certain categories of information for different periods depending on the purpose for which the data is collected.
15. Your rights concerning your personal data
You are provided with several rights under the GDPR:
- Right to access: At any point in time, you may ask for access to any information we process about you.
- Right to rectify: If the information we process about you is outdated or wrong, you make ask for rectification at any time.
- Right to be forgotten/deletion: In accordance with the GDPR you have the right to request for deletion of your data at any time. However, please note that Oranje Palace is subject to mandatory retention periods for some data and will therefore have to assess at which points in time different data can be deleted.
- Right to data portability: You also have the right to request to receive all information you have provided to us in a structured, commonly used, machine-readable format and, where technically feasible, transfer it directly from one data controller to another. Please note that this right does not mean, that we can delete all of your data from our site automatically.
- Right to restriction of processing of personal data: You can ask us to restrict the processing of personal data concerning you under specific circumstances that include among others, where you believe your data is inaccurate.
- Right not to be subject to automated-decision making: You have the right not to be subject to solely automated decision-making that produces legal effects or otherwise significantly affects you, unless this is permitted by law.

You can also use our phone service. If you contact us by telephone your conversation can be recorded. Oranje Palace records these telephone calls for the legitimate interest of ensuring the corporate security of Oranje Palace. Only a limited number of employees have access to the recordings, and this data is well protected.
If Oranje Palace cannot establish what personal data your request for inspection, amendment or deletion concerns, or cannot do so fully, we can ask you to further specify your request. You will receive a reply from us within one month.
