For five years, we’ve been able to enjoy Formula 1 in our little country. For five years, the whole of Zandvoort and the surrounding area turned into one big orange blur, as one of the biggest sporting events made its way to the Netherlands. This Sunday, it will happen for the very last time, which means that Dutch fans will see ‘their’ Max Verstappen racing on home soil for the final time. Can he treat them to a spectacular performance? Or is it Mercedes that’s thwarting these plans? Oranje Palace tells you more about the Zandvoort Grand Prix and gives you Formula 1 predictions and betting tips!

Zandvoort Grand Prix preview

It would be brilliant if Max Verstappen, the four-time world champion, could bounce back after a mediocre start and secure a place on the podium. To help you get started with betting on Formula 1, we’ve shared the key news surrounding the Zandvoort Grand Prix below.

The last time at Zandvoort

Some 35 years after Niki Lauda’s victory at the Zandvoort circuit, the top tier of motor racing returned to the Netherlands. And all this without any state support whatsoever – something that is usually the case in countries that host an F1 race. It clearly demonstrates the organisers’ commitment. Unfortunately, the 2020 race was cancelled due to the coronavirus.

A year later, however, the red, white and blue flag could be flown, as racing did indeed take place at the Zandvoort circuit. To top it all off, it was ultimately Max Verstappen who was the fastest, setting the sea of orange alight. The Dutchman was also the strongest in 2022 and 2023, whilst in 2024 and 2025 it was McLaren’s orange papayas that claimed victory. So there was an orange celebration after all.

Sadly, this really is the last time the F1 circus will be travelling to Zandvoort. The organisers can no longer afford to stage such a major event, particularly with a view to the future. That means that this weekend, during the sprint race and the official race, we’ll get to enjoy once more all the wonderful things the Mascot Circuit Zandvoort has to offer.

Dutch GP Zandvoort predictions

Would you like to bet on Formula 1? You can do so at Oranje Palace’s Sportsbook. Whether you’re betting on the race winner, the eventual world champion, head-to-head matches between specific drivers or the driver who sets the fastest lap, there are countless options. To help you get started, we’ve shared some Formula 1 betting tips below, in the hope that they’ll help you fill in your Oranje Palace betting slip.

Dutch GP Zandvoort betting tip: Max Verstappen to finish on the podium

Rarely will Max Verstappen be so motivated to achieve a good result in Formula 1. Of course, he has already been crowned world champion on several occasions, but a race on home soil is and always will be special. We reckon he’ll make it onto the podium, at the venue where he has already been the fastest three times. What’s more, he has finished on the podium in three of his last four races. A new podium finish for Max Verstappen will earn you odds of 2.25.

Who will win the Dutch Grand Prix at Zandvoort?

With six wins and nine podium finishes in twelve races, there’s no denying that Kimi Antonelli is currently the best of the bunch. This is clearly reflected in the standings. We reckon the young Italian will once again impress and claim victory at the Dutch Grand Prix. Especially as George Russell has been playing catch-up all season and Lewis Hamilton has never won the Dutch Grand Prix. A win for Antonelli in the final Grand Prix at Zandvoort will earn you odds of 3.00.
