History of the Hungarian Grand Prix

The Hungarian Grand Prix at the iconic Hungaroring has been a fixture on the Formula 1 calendar for many years. Racing has taken place at the circuit just outside Budapest since 1986; it is known for its twisty layout, narrow track and limited overtaking opportunities. Due to its technical nature, the Hungaroring is often compared to a street circuit, despite being a permanent racing circuit.

With eight wins, Lewis Hamilton is the most successful driver ever at the Hungaroring. Last year, the victory went to Lando Norris, who once again secured an important win for McLaren in the battle for both world titles.

Max Verstappen also has fond memories of the Hungaroring. The Dutchman won the Hungarian Grand Prix in 2022 and 2023 and has also finished on the podium on several occasions. Can the Dutchman make a big impression in Eastern Europe? Or will he once again be happy just to make the podium?
