It is nothing short of a miracle that Sweden have qualified for the 2026 World Cup. After a dismal qualifying campaign in which they managed to collect just two (!) points, the Scandinavians still managed to secure their place via the play-offs. Tunisia took the ‘standard’ route and was one of the first African nations to officially qualify. What follows is a group stage in which they will face the Netherlands. How will both teams perform? You can read more about it in our Sweden v Tunisia prediction.

Sweden v Tunisia preview

Under the guidance of manager Graham Potter, Sweden will be pulling out all the stops to make an impression at the World Cup. With Alexander Isak and Viktor Gyökeres, the Scandinavians have plenty of attacking quality, whilst Victor Lindelöf plays a key role in defence thanks to his experience. Nevertheless, the question remains as to whether Sweden are ready for the 2026 World Cup, given that the team did not exactly impress during their pre-tournament preparations. They drew 2-2 with Greece and lost 3-1 to Norway.

Tunisia, ranked 44th in the FIFA rankings, are known as a compact and disciplined team that are difficult to beat. The North Africans qualified for the World Cup in convincing fashion and are keen to show once again that they can hold their own against European opposition. Players such as Ellyes Skhiri and Hannibal Mejbri are key figures, whilst in former Sparta player Omar Rekik they have a player with a history in the Eredivisie. Nevertheless, their ability to score remains a problem: Tunisia lost 5-0 to Belgium and failed to score in their last three international matches. In theory, this seems like excellent news for the Dutch national team.

Sweden v Tunisia prediction

Viktor Gyökeres made his big breakthrough at Arsenal last season. In his debut year, he immediately scored 14 goals in 36 Premier League matches. He also made his mark in the 2026 World Cup play-offs, scoring four goals in two matches, including a hat-trick against Poland. Of course, it’s not rocket science, but odds of 2.38 for such a top striker are too good to ignore, aren’t they? Extra interesting: with the Lucky Sub feature, your bet still counts if he’s substituted!

Sweden v Tunisia odds

Tunisia’s run of three consecutive international matches without scoring speaks volumes. On African soil, the country regularly manages to impress, but against opponents from other continents, things quickly become more difficult. Given their current form and the goal drought, we do not expect Tunisia to be able to score against the stubborn Scandinavians. Certainly not because they failed to score in two of their three previous encounters with Sweden. If Tunisia scores fewer than 0.5 goals, you’ll get odds of 2.20.

Sweden v Tunisia predicted line-ups

Curious about the predicted line-ups for both teams? Here they are:

Sweden (3-5-2): Nordfeldt, Lindelöf, Hien, Lagerbielke, Gudmundsson, Ayari, Karlström, Bernhardsson, Isak, Gyökeres, Elanga

Tunisia (4-3-3): Chamakh, Abdi, Rekik, Talbi, Valery, Skhiri, Mejbri, Khedira, Gharbi, Chaouat, Achouri
