What is Le Vampire?

Le Vampire takes place inside a spooky castle where Smokey returns with a vampire theme. The game uses a cluster mechanic in which at least 5 matching symbols must connect horizontally or vertically to create a win, after which the winning symbols disappear and new ones fall into the grid.

These Supercascades form the foundation of the Golden Squares system. Winning positions can become Golden Squares, which are then activated by Rainbow symbols to reveal Special symbols. Coins, Clovers, Gold Bags and Gold Pots can therefore build on one another during the same activation sequence.

  • Blood Squares during the bonus games

Symbols

The lower-paying regular symbols are the card values J, Q, K and A. The higher-paying symbols fit the vampire theme and include vampire fangs, a hand holding a wooden stake, a skull and a pistol.

The Wild substitutes for all regular symbols shown in the paytable. There are also several Special symbols connected to the Golden Squares and bonus mechanics, including Coins, Green Clovers, Gold Clovers, Gold Bags, Gold Pots, Rainbow symbols, Epic Rainbow symbols and FS Scatter symbols.

Supercascades

A winning combination consists of at least 5 matching symbols connected horizontally or vertically anywhere on the grid. Once a cluster wins, the regular symbols involved are removed and new symbols fall down to fill the empty positions.

This process continues for as long as new winning clusters are created. The positions behind symbols that formed part of a win are marked as Golden Squares, allowing consecutive cascades to build the foundation for the Special-symbol mechanics.

Golden Squares

Golden Squares are created behind symbols that form part of a winning combination. They remain on the grid and can later be activated when a Rainbow symbol lands.

A regular Rainbow activates all Golden Squares after the current wins have been processed. Those activated squares then reveal Special symbols. These can be Bronze, Silver, Gold or Diamond Coins, but also Green Clovers, Gold Clovers, Gold Bags or Gold Pots.

Once the Special symbols are revealed, their effects are processed in a fixed order. Clover multipliers are applied first, followed by Gold Bags and finally Gold Pots.

Coins

Coins are cash prizes shown as multiples of the stake. There are four different Coin categories, each with its own possible values.

Bronze Coins can be worth 0.2×, 0.4×, 1×, 2×, 3× or 4× the stake. Silver Coins can show 5×, 6×, 7×, 8×, 9× or 10×. Gold Coins can be worth 20×, 30×, 40× or 50×, while Diamond Coins can show 100×, 150×, 250× or 500× the stake.

These Coin values can then be increased by Clover symbols or collected by Gold Bags and Gold Pots.

Clover symbols

Green Clovers and Gold Clovers can apply multipliers of 2×, 3×, 4×, 5×, 10× or 20×. A Green Clover multiplies Coins or already activated Gold Bags and Gold Pots on adjacent positions.

A Gold Clover applies its multiplier to all Coins and existing Gold Bags and Gold Pots on the entire grid. If there are no eligible Special symbols nearby when a Clover is revealed, it is activated once suitable Special symbols are present on the grid.

Gold Bags

Gold Bags are activated after all Clover multipliers have been applied. A Gold Bag collects the values of Coins and already activated Gold Bags and Gold Pots on the surrounding 3×3 positions and adds them to its own total.

When a Golden Square is collected by a Gold Bag, that position can reveal another Special symbol. This can introduce new Coins, Clovers, Gold Bags or Gold Pots into the same activation sequence.

Gold Pots

Once all Gold Bags have been processed, the Gold Pots are activated. A Gold Pot collects the values of all Coins and other Gold Bags and Gold Pots on the entire grid and combines them into its own total value.

Golden Squares collected by a Gold Pot can also reveal new Special symbols. A Gold Pot that has already been activated will not collect again during the same sequence.

Rainbow and Epic Rainbow

A Rainbow symbol activates all Golden Squares once the regular wins from that spin have been fully processed. Those Golden Squares then reveal the Special symbols that start the multiplier and collection sequence.

An Epic Rainbow goes a step further by marking every grid position as a Golden Square before the Special symbols are revealed. Epic Rainbows also have a chance to trigger Blood Rain, which marks all grid positions as Blood Squares.

A regular Rainbow and an Epic Rainbow cannot be present on the grid at the same time.

Bonus games

Le Vampire includes three bonus games, triggered by the number of FS Scatter symbols landing at the same time during the base game. Each bonus starts with 10 Free Spins, although the additional mechanics differ between the three versions.

Coffin Break is triggered by 3 FS Scatter symbols. Love at First Bite starts when 4 FS Scatter symbols land, while Do Your Fang is the Hidden Epic Bonus and is triggered by 5 FS Scatter symbols.

The Golden Squares, Rainbow symbols and Special-symbol mechanics remain active during these bonus games, while Blood Squares and the Symbol Bar add extra layers to the gameplay.

Blood Squares

Blood Squares appear during the bonus games. When a high-paying symbol forms part of a winning combination, every symbol of the same type is upgraded to its Epic version for the rest of the bonus. This also applies to new symbols of that type landing later.

Wins involving Epic symbols mark the positions behind those symbols as Blood Squares. Blood Squares retain the same core mechanics as Golden Squares, but they do not reveal Bronze Coins when activated.

The higher-paying symbols that can be upgraded in this way are the vampire fangs, the hand with the wooden stake, the skull and the pistol.

Symbol Bar

The Symbol Bar appears outside the grid during all three bonus games. Every time one of the higher-paying symbol types is upgraded to an Epic symbol, a new level is reached on the bar.

The Symbol Bar has 4 levels. Levels 1, 2 and 3 each award 2 additional Free Spins. Level 4 also awards 2 additional Free Spins and guarantees that a Rainbow or Epic Rainbow symbol will land on the following spin.

This links the Symbol Bar directly to the Blood Squares mechanic: winning higher-paying symbols can be upgraded to Epic versions, while those upgrades can simultaneously add extra Free Spins and Rainbow symbols.

Coffin Break

Coffin Break is triggered during the base game when 3 FS Scatter symbols land at the same time. The bonus starts with 10 Free Spins and introduces the Symbol Bar alongside the Golden Squares mechanics from the base game.

When a high-paying symbol forms part of a win, that symbol type is upgraded to its Epic version for the rest of the bonus after the win has been processed. Any new symbols of the same type that land later will also appear as Epic symbols.

Golden Squares and Blood Squares remain marked until one of the Rainbow symbols activates them. This allows progress to build over several Free Spins, while upgrades to the higher-paying symbols simultaneously advance the Symbol Bar.

Love at First Bite

Love at First Bite begins when 4 FS Scatter symbols land at the same time during the base game. This bonus also starts with 10 Free Spins.

The mechanics from Coffin Break remain active, including Epic symbols, Blood Squares and the Symbol Bar. The difference is that Golden Squares and Blood Squares stay highlighted even after they have been activated by a Rainbow symbol.

When an Epic Rainbow is activated and the full grid activation has been completed, only the Golden Squares and Blood Squares that were present before that activation remain highlighted.

Each level reached on the Symbol Bar awards 2 additional Free Spins, so symbol upgrades can both create new Blood Squares and extend the bonus.

Do Your Fang

Do Your Fang is the Hidden Epic Bonus in Le Vampire and is triggered when 5 FS Scatter symbols land at the same time during the base game. The bonus starts with 10 Free Spins and builds on the mechanics used in Love at First Bite.

A Rainbow or Epic Rainbow symbol is guaranteed on every spin. This means Golden Squares and Blood Squares are activated much more frequently than in the other bonus variants.

If Level 4 is reached on the Symbol Bar, the following spin is guaranteed to include an Epic Rainbow symbol. Coins revealed during this bonus also have a minimum value of 1× the stake.

Maximum win

The maximum win in Le Vampire is 15,000× the stake and, according to Hacksaw Gaming, can be achieved in all game modes.

Larger payouts can develop when Supercascades create many Golden Squares and those squares are then turned into Special symbols by Rainbow or Epic Rainbow symbols. Clover multipliers, Gold Bags and Gold Pots can influence and collect multiple Coin values within the same activation sequence.

During the bonus games, Blood Squares, Epic symbols and the Symbol Bar are added to the same core system, giving the Golden Squares mechanic additional ways to develop.

Why Le Vampire stands out

Le Vampire is built around a chain of mechanics that directly interact with one another. Cluster wins create Golden Squares, Rainbow symbols activate those squares, and the revealed Special symbols can then introduce Coins, multipliers and collection mechanics.

The order in which the Special symbols are processed is particularly important. Clovers can first increase values, Gold Bags then collect nearby values, and Gold Pots can finally collect across the entire grid. New Special symbols revealed during this process can extend the sequence even further.

The bonus games add another layer through Epic symbols, Blood Squares and the Symbol Bar. Winning higher-paying symbols can therefore create upgraded symbols, marked positions, extra Free Spins and further Rainbow activity at the same time.
