Colombia v Ghana: 2026 World Cup Prediction
Will Colombia continue their strong run in the group stage against Ghana? Read all about this match here, including our Colombia v Ghana prediction.
It came as a complete surprise that Colombia managed to top the group containing Portugal. They beat both Uzbekistan and the D.R. Congo and drew 0–0 with Portugal – a match they could even have won. Ghana did very well to pick up a point against England and beat Panama, meaning the Africans have also progressed to the next round of the 2026 World Cup. We’ll tell you more about this Round of 32 match and give you our Colombia v Ghana prediction.

Colombia v Ghana preview
At first glance, Colombia appear to be the favourites to win the match against Ghana. On the other hand, Ghana kept clean sheets against both Panama and England, which shows that Carlos Queiroz has the defence well organised. It looks as though we’re in for a fairly evenly matched game.
Current Form & Team News
Colombia
As mentioned, Colombia are having an excellent tournament. Following their 3-1 and 1-0 victories over Uzbekistan and the D.R. Congo, it soon became clear to the South Americans that they were through to the next round. Remarkably, they also had the upper hand against Portugal, which shows that we must take Nestor Lorenzo’s side seriously. Of course, most eyes are on Luis Díaz and James Rodríguez, but Daniel Muñoz also deserves credit. The defender has played three matches so far and has scored two goals. Could he pose a threat against Ghana too?
Ghana
After two group matches, Ghana has been one of the big surprises of the 2026 World Cup. The Africans played two very solid matches and picked up four points straight away. Things did go wrong against Croatia, though this was mainly because Croatia absolutely had to win. What makes it particularly enjoyable for fans of the Dutch Eredivisie is that Derrick Luckassen scored the only goal against the Croatians. The 30-year-old defender from Cypriot side Pafos fired home the equaliser to make it 1–1. Will we see him in action against Colombia too?
Head-to-Head
Colombia and Ghana have never played each other before. Therefore, there is nothing to say about the history between the two nations.
Expected line-ups
Colombia (4-3-3):
Vargas, Mojica, Lucumi, Sanchez, Munoz, Rios, Rodriguez, Lerma, Diaz, Suarez, Arias
Ghana (4-3-2-1):
Asare, Senaya, Adjetey, Opoku, Mensah, Yirenkyi, Partey, Sibo, Iñaki Williams, Semenyo, Ayew
Colombia v Ghana betting tips
Betting tip 1: Gustavo Puerta to have more than 0.5 shots on target
It has already been said that Colombia’s success hinges largely on the qualities of Diaz and Rodriguez. Nevertheless, we must not underestimate the role of Gustavo Puerta. The midfielder, who plays for Spanish side Racing Santander, is a regular in midfield and is frequently involved in the attack. For instance, he managed at least one shot on target against both DR Congo and Portugal. We reckon he’ll do the same against Ghana. If Gustavo Puerta has more than 0.5 shots on target, you’ll get odds of 1.84.
Betting tip 2: Under 2.5 goals
Both Colombia and Ghana have very strong defences. In two of the three group matches played by both teams, there were no more than two goals scored. We think this will have an impact on this match. That’s why we’re going for under 2.5 goals, a bet that will earn you odds of 1.61.
Colombia v Ghana Prediction
** Final score: Colombia 1–0 Ghana **
We believe Colombia have a slight edge and will win this match. We expect it to be a very narrow victory, as we’ve all seen that both defences are in good shape.
