Betting on Roland Garros 2026
From 18 May to 7 June, the international tennis world will be focused on Roland Garros 2026. Oranje Palace tells you everything you need to know about the favourites, betting on tennis and responsible gaming. Who’s your favourite?
Have you been following tennis lately? Then you’ll know that the past few weeks have mainly been played on clay courts. And that means Roland Garros is just around the corner again. This tournament, also known as the French Open, is one of the four Grand Slams, where we get to see the world’s best male and female tennis players in action.
Can Carlos Alcaraz and Coco Gauff defend their titles won in 2025? Or will we see a changing of the guard? Oranje Palace looks ahead to Roland Garros 2026 and, of course, treats you to several interesting betting tips.
What is Roland Garros?
Roland Garros 2026 is one of the biggest and most famous tennis tournaments in the world. The event is held every year in Paris and is particularly known for its clay courts. This often leads to longer rallies and many exciting matches. The best tennis players in the world compete for the title, while millions of fans watch live.
Every year, this tournament delivers surprises, emotional moments, and spectacular finals. A number of Dutch players also participate annually, including Tallon Griekspoor and Botic van de Zandschulp. Looking for even more excitement during the best matches? Roland Garros 2026 is a very popular tournament for sports bettors.
When is Roland Garros 2026 taking place?
Roland Garros 2026 will be played from May 18 to June 7, 2026. The qualifying rounds start earlier, while the main draw begins later. The finals will take place during the first weekend of June.
The tournament is held at the famous Stade Roland-Garros in Paris. This large tennis complex is located in the west of the city, near the Porte d’Auteuil district. The venue features multiple clay courts, including the iconic Court Philippe-Chatrier, where the biggest matches — including the finals — are played. Court Suzanne-Lenglen and Court Simonne-Mathieu are also popular courts during the event.
Favorites for Roland Garros 2026
As with every edition of Roland Garros, certain players stand out as having a better chance of winning the title. This is also the case for Roland Garros 2026. Carlos Alcaraz and Coco Gauff naturally receive extra attention, as they took home the titles last year. However, several other big names are also among the Roland Garros favorites.
Men’s Favorites
In the men’s draw, most eyes — as has often been the case in recent years — are on Jannik Sinner. The Italian superstar has already won multiple Grand Slams and consistently leaves the rest of the top players behind. Except for Carlos Alcaraz, of course. The current “King of Clay” will unfortunately be absent due to injury — a major blow, as the Spaniard won the last two editions.
Jannik Sinner
Jannik Sinner, on the other hand, is in the form of his life. He recently won the ATP Masters 1000 tournaments in Madrid and Rome. It’s clear he has a strong chance of reaching the final at Roland Garros.
Novak Djokovic & Alexander Zverev
Other outsiders include Novak Djokovic, the record holder for the most Grand Slam titles, and Alexander Zverev, the German who is still chasing his first Grand Slam title. The question is whether they can stop Sinner. It’s evident that neither Djokovic nor Zverev is currently in peak form.
Women’s Favorites
While there is a clear favorite on the men’s side, things are more open on the women’s side. According to the bookmakers, Iga Swiatek and Aryna Sabalenka are the biggest favorites. Swiatek because of her strong history on French clay, and Sabalenka because she has been the world number one for some time.
Aryna Sabalenka
Aryna Sabalenka, a multiple Grand Slam winner, is not in her best form. The Belarusian lost early at the WTA Masters 1000 in Rome and was eliminated in the quarterfinals in Madrid. Despite her big name, she doesn’t currently appear to be at the top of her game.
Iga Swiatek
Iga Swiatek, however, is in excellent form. The Polish star is currently dominating her opponents. In Rome, she beat players like Jessica Pegula and Naomi Osaka with scores such as 6-1 and 6-2. Although her Madrid campaign was a bit more difficult, she still looks to have found her rhythm heading into Roland Garros.
Coco Gauff
Of course, Coco Gauff cannot be left out. The American won the title in Paris last year in impressive fashion. She is in decent form, especially considering her performances at the WTA Masters 1000 in Rome. Can she defend her title, or is the competition simply too strong?
What bets can you place on Roland Garros 2026?
Betting on Roland Garros 2026 is a great way to add even more excitement to this prestigious tennis tournament. Here are some of the most popular betting markets:
Outright: Tournament Winner
One of the most popular bets is predicting the overall tournament winner (also called an outright bet). You pick in advance which player you think will lift the trophy in Paris. Favorites usually have lower odds, while outsiders offer much higher payouts.
Match Winner
You can also bet on individual matches. Simply predict which player will win a specific match. This is very popular because you can take form, head-to-head records, and clay-court performance into account.
Set Betting
With set betting, everything revolves around the score in sets. You can predict whether a player will win 3-0 or if the match will go to a deciding set. This often creates interesting opportunities, especially in long clay-court matches.
Over/Under Bets
With over/under bets, you predict the total number of games or sets that will be played. Expecting a long, tense match? Then an ‘over’ bet can be attractive.
Live Betting during Roland Garros
Live betting makes tennis even more exciting. The odds change constantly during the match, allowing you to react immediately to breaks, momentum shifts, or surprise moments on the court.
Responsible Betting on Roland Garros 2026
First and foremost: betting on Roland Garros 2026 should stay fun. Set a budget in advance and only play with money you can afford to lose. Don’t get carried away by emotions during exciting matches or live betting. It’s smart to look calmly at statistics and player form before placing a bet. Take regular breaks and remember that losing is part of sports betting. This way, you keep it exciting and responsible.
