What is The Library Overdue?

The Library Overdue revolves around Stackways™ symbols that can fill a reel with stacks of paying symbols. When a Stackways™ symbol activates, between 2 and 10 matching paying symbols can be placed on the corresponding reel.

The game selects a symbol that can create the longest possible winning combination. The stacking only takes place when the result creates a win. During the bonus rounds, the total number of Stackways™ on a reel can increase further, up to a maximum of 20.

Main features

  • Stackways™
  • Normal and Revealing Stackways™ symbols
  • up to 20 Stackways™ per reel during bonus rounds
  • Stackways™ Booster
  • Stack the Shelves Spins
  • Overdue Spins
  • Special Symbols
  • additional free spins
  • maximum win of 10,000x stake

Stackways™

The Stackways™ mechanic forms the foundation of The Library Overdue. When a Stackways™ symbol lands and can contribute to a win, the reel is filled with multiple copies of a paying symbol.

Normal Stackways™ symbols can create stacks of 2, 3 or 4 symbols. Revealing Stackways™ symbols can create larger stacks, with values ranging from 5 to 10.

The game automatically selects the symbol that can form the longest possible winning combination. If several symbols could create winning combinations of equal length, one of them is selected at random.

Stackways™ Booster

The Stackways™ Booster appears only during Stack the Shelves Spins and Overdue Spins.

Each Booster increases the minimum Stackways™ value on all reels by +1. This allows future symbol expansions to become larger. The minimum Stackways™ value can be increased by up to +10 per reel through Boosters, while each reel can ultimately grow to a maximum of 20 Stackways™ during the bonus.

The key difference between the two bonus rounds is how these accumulated increases are handled. During Stack the Shelves Spins, certain Special Symbol expansions can reset the minimum Stackways™ value. During Overdue Spins, these increases remain active.

Stack the Shelves Spins

Stack the Shelves Spins is triggered by landing three FS Scatter symbols at the same time in the base game. The feature starts with 10 free spins and adds several extra mechanics to the regular Stackways™ setup.

At the start of the bonus, two symbols are randomly selected as Special Symbols. When one of these Special Symbols appears on three or more reels at the same time, it can expand and fill the relevant reels with additional copies of that symbol.

Stackways™ symbols can also appear during the feature. When a Stackways™ symbol is part of a winning stack, it increases the Stackways™ value on that reel further. Each reel can grow to a maximum of 20 Stackways™ during the bonus.

Stackways™ Boosters increase the minimum Stackways™ value on all reels by +1. This increase can build up to a maximum of +10 per reel. During Stack the Shelves Spins, however, a Special Symbol expansion resets the minimum Stackways™ value back to the base guaranteed amount.

Extra spins and upgrade to Overdue Spins

Additional FS Scatter symbols can award extra spins or upgrade the bonus:

  • 2 FS Scatter symbols award 2 extra free spins
  • 3 FS Scatter symbols award 4 extra free spins
  • 4 FS Scatter symbols upgrade the feature to Overdue Spins and award 4 extra free spins

This means a regular Stack the Shelves Spins bonus can develop into the stronger Overdue Spins feature during play.

Overdue Spins

Overdue Spins is triggered directly by landing four FS Scatter symbols at the same time in the base game and also starts with 10 free spins.

The core mechanics are similar to Stack the Shelves Spins, but there is one important difference: increases to the minimum Stackways™ value gained from Stackways™ Boosters do not reset when a Special Symbol expands.

This allows the accumulated Stackways™ progression to remain active throughout the feature and continue building over subsequent spins.

Additional free spins can also be awarded:

  • 2 FS Scatter symbols award 2 extra free spins
  • 3 FS Scatter symbols award 4 extra free spins

Why The Library Overdue stands out

The Library Overdue stands out through the way its Stackways™ mechanic develops during the bonus rounds. Rather than relying on fixed symbol expansions, the game allows the minimum Stackways™ values on the reels to grow throughout the feature.

The distinction between Stack the Shelves Spins and Overdue Spins is especially important. In the first feature, accumulated Booster increases can be reset, while in Overdue Spins they remain active. This gives the stronger bonus a more persistent progression system.
