RB Leipzig v PSV Champions League Prediction
Will PSV secure their first Champions League win in eastern Germany? Oranje Palace looks ahead to RB Leipzig v PSV.
Are you ready for a period packed with top-class football? Then you’re in luck, because many Dutch clubs are set to play no fewer than eight matches in quick succession in, for example, the Eredivisie and the Champions League. This includes PSV, who face German side RB Leipzig on Tuesday evening. Following the 1–1 draw against Shakhtar Donetsk, a win would be more than welcome. But will they manage it against a side that beat Frankfurt 6–0 just last weekend? Here’s our RB Leipzig v PSV prediction.

RB Leipzig v PSV preview
After one match, RB Leipzig have zero points, whilst PSV have picked up one. If you want to make your mark in the ‘Miljardenbal’, a win is actually essential. Before we move on to the best RB Leipzig v PSV betting tips, we’ll give you a brief overview of both teams.
Current Form & Team News
RB Leipzig
Until last weekend, there was a great deal of pressure on the RB Leipzig manager. So much pressure, in fact, that Julian Nagelsmann’s name is already being bandied about once again. A week later, the football scene in the east of Germany looks completely different, as last Saturday saw a 6–0 victory over Eintracht Frankfurt. The star of the show was Christopher N’Kunku. The former Chelsea player scored a hat-trick, whilst Dutchman Ezechiël Banzuzi also got on the scoresheet. Is he now on the radar of Xavi, the Netherlands national team manager?
PSV
Calm has returned to PSV following the painful defeat to FC Twente before the international break. Admittedly, last Friday’s match against SC Heerenveen was a hard-fought affair, but the three points still remained at the Philips Stadium thanks to a 2-0 victory. Nevertheless, there are still some question marks in the ‘City of Light’. After all, who should they field up front now that all three strikers are injured? Against RB Leipzig, too, it will once again come down to a choice between Guus Til and Sven Mijnans. Good news: both players have now shown that they are particularly clinical in front of goal. This is certainly true of Guus Til, who scored his fifth goal of the season against SC Heerenveen. Can he do the same at the Red Bull Arena?
Head-to-Head
RB Leipzig and PSV have never played an official match against each other in the past. As a result, there is nothing to say about their head-to-head record.
Expected line-ups
RB Leipzig (4-2-3-1):
Vandevoordt, Raum, Lukeba, Orban, Henrichs, El Aynaoui, Banzuzi, Nusa, Nkunku, Maksimovic, Romulo Cardoso.
PSV (4-2-3-1):
Kovar, Mauro Junior, Obispo, Geertruida, Dest, Fernandez, Sano, van Bommel, Til, Perisic, Mijnans
RB Leipzig v PSV betting tips
Betting tip 1: Over 3.5 goals
RB Leipzig may be having an inconsistent season, but when they play at home, you can safely get your abacus out. In their last four home matches, for instance, no fewer than eighteen goals were scored. We expect a good number of goals in this match too – at least four, to be precise. Over 3.5 goals in the RB Leipzig v PSV match will earn you odds of 1.89.
Betting tip 2: Guus Til will score or provide an assist
If there’s one player in fine form at PSV, it’s Guus Til. Not long ago, he provided an assist for the Netherlands national team, whilst he has scored three goals in his last two matches for PSV. We reckon he’ll also play a key role in Germany for a PSV side that’s always finding the net. If Guus Til scores or provides an assist, you’ll get odds of 2.60.
RB Leipzig v PSV Prediction
Final score: RB Leipzig 2–2 PSV
We’re predicting a 2–2 draw, with both teams fairly evenly matched. Both the Roten Bullen and PSV score fairly easily, so we certainly don’t think this result is out of the question. What do you think?
