Feyenoord v Como preview
Will Feyenoord build on their 2-0 victory over AZ Alkmaar with another win at home? Or will the Italian sensation from the north make a name for themselves with a second consecutive victory in the Miljardenbal? Here’s the latest news, after which we’ll move straight on to the best betting tips.
Current Form & Team News
Feyenoord
Things are going very well in Rotterdam at the moment. After finishing second last year, the club bid farewell to Robin van Persie. Not a bad performance, but for the time being, Giovanni van Bronckhorst and Sipke Hulshoff are doing more than just excellent. In fact, the club from the port city is top of the table and boasts a number of players who are performing surprisingly well. Nacho Ferri, in particular, has been making a name for himself in recent weeks. He has scored five times in the last three Eredivisie matches. Can he do the same in Europe?
Como
These days, it’s party time in Como – not just in the summer, but throughout the entire football season. Since Cesc Fabregas took charge, things have been going well for the northern Italians. Last season, they qualified for the Champions League in impressive fashion and, a few months later, made an excellent debut against RB Leipzig. Things are also going well again in Serie A. Following the 0–0 draw against AS Roma – featuring Donyell Malen, who was sent off – they sit seventh, just three points behind the third-placed side from Rome. How will they fare in their first away fixture in Europe?
Head-to-Head
Feyenoord and Como have never played each other before. There is therefore nothing to say about their head-to-head record.
Predicted line-ups
Feyenoord (4-3-3):
Ernst, Lopez, Marmol, St. Juste, Read, Targhalline, Vanhoutte, Zechiel, Valente, Ferri, Hadj Moussa
Como (4-1-4-1):
Butez, Kaiki, Chalobah, Ramon, Couto, Perrone, Baturina, Da Cunha, Paz, Diao, Douvikas
Feyenoord v Como betting tips
Betting tip 1: Asian Handicap +0.5 for Feyenoord
Feyenoord often perform even better in Europe than in the domestic league. It’s no coincidence that they recently beat teams such as Bayern Munich and AC Milan. We therefore believe that Feyenoord won’t lose to Como. An Asian Handicap of +0.5 for Feyenoord gives you odds of 1.94.
Betting tip 2: Luciano Valente to have more than 0.5 shots on target
The Feyenoord captain has moved from midfield to attack. It’s not his favourite position, but he shows week in, week out that he has no shortage of work rate and creativity. What’s more, in the home matches against FC Utrecht and AZ Alkmaar, he managed at least one shot on target per game. We reckon he’ll do the same against Como. If Luciano Valente has more than 0.5 shots on target, you’ll get odds of 2.35.
Feyenoord v Como Prediction
Final score: Feyenoord 1–1 Como
We expect a fairly evenly matched game, in which Como will be happy with the result at some point. After all, a point away from home is certainly not a bad result for a Champions League debutant. We’re going for 1–1. What do you think?
