Roulette Strategy: The Martingale System
The Martingale roulette strategy is one of the most famous roulette strategies in the world. You double your bet every time you lose a round. For example: you place a €5 bet on black. But the ball lands on red. In the next round, you bet €10 on black. You continue doing this until you win.
And that’s immediately where the problem with the Martingale system lies — the costs can escalate very quickly. Imagine this: you lose €10. Then you bet €20 in the next round. You lose again. Then €40. Another loss. €80. Lose again. €160. Still no luck. €320. Lost? Lost! €640… Do you see how quickly it adds up?
At some point, either you run out of money (never gamble with too much money), or you are no longer allowed to place such large bets because of casino betting limits. At Oranje Palace, we protect our players. Our maximum bet on an even-money chance such as red or black is X euros.
Just for your information: if you start with a €10 bet and use the Martingale system, after losing ten times in a row, your eleventh spin would theoretically require a bet of €10,240 — although at our casino this is certainly not possible, and neither we nor you would want that. And if you finally win, your total profit would only be €10…
Roulette Strategy: The Fibonacci System
The Fibonacci Roulette System resembles the Martingale strategy. When playing online roulette, you again bet on even-money chances such as red or black, or odd or even.
Here’s how it works:
You start by betting €1. If you lose, you bet €1 again. If you lose again, you bet €2. The full sequence is:
1, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13, 21, 34, 55, 89, 144, 233…
If you look closely, you’ll see the logic behind this sequence: each number is the sum of the two preceding numbers.
At Oranje Palace, we strongly advise against using the Fibonacci system, because you only make a real profit if the very first spin wins. With subsequent bets, you gradually lose money.
Roulette Strategy: The Red Bet System
The Red Bet Roulette System also resembles the Martingale strategy. Here’s how it works:
You place a bet on an even-money chance, for example with a €10 chip on black. Unfortunately, the roulette ball lands on red. On the next spin, you place €20 on black and €10 on red.
The advantage of this system — if you can call it an advantage — is that you lose less money during a losing streak compared to the Martingale system.
However, be aware of one important thing: if the ball lands on zero (the green zero), you lose both bets — the one on red and the one on black. The same naturally applies to bets on odd/even.
Roulette Strategy: The d’Alembert System
The d’Alembert roulette strategy was invented by Jean le Rond d’Alembert, a French professor and philosopher (yes, really!) who lived during the eighteenth century, from 1717 to 1783. At Oranje Palace, we research everything for you!
The d’Alembert system is very easy to use. You choose a fixed base unit, for example €2. You bet on an even-money chance, such as black. If the outcome is red, you increase your next bet to €4. Lose again? Then bet €6. If you win, you decrease your bet by one unit.
So, these are the most commonly used roulette strategies. Feel free to try them all if you’d like. But once again, we must emphasize: no roulette system or method guarantees 100% profit. In the long run, the casino (the house) always has an advantage over the player — the house edge. That’s why it’s so important to cash out your winnings when you are ahead.
