What Is a Free Casino Bonus?
A free online casino bonus is a bonus you receive from an online casino without making a deposit. That means you play in an online casino using bonus money without depositing your own money first. Free casino bonuses are not very common. If you do receive a free online casino bonus — congratulations! — keep in mind that there are almost always certain bonus terms attached to it. Often, a free casino bonus looks better than it actually is. Still, playing for free at an online casino is always fun. But playing for free while also having the chance to win real money is, of course, even more fun.
What Is a No-Deposit Online Casino Bonus?
A no-deposit bonus is exactly the same thing as a free casino bonus. Playing with a no-deposit bonus in an online casino means you’re playing with free bonus money for real money winnings. The same bonus conditions apply to a no-deposit online casino bonus as to a free casino bonus. “No-deposit” is simply the English term for “without deposit.” So a “no-deposit casino bonus” is just “a casino bonus without a deposit.” But you probably already figured that out.
What Is a Deposit Casino Bonus?
A deposit online casino bonus is a bonus you receive when you deposit money at an online casino. Hence the Dutch term: deposit bonus. Deposit casino bonuses are very common at legal Dutch online casinos. If you’re a customer at a Dutch online casino, you’ll often receive emails with casino offers. For example: “Deposit at least €20 today and receive an extra €10 in free playing credit.”
Please note: playing credit is almost always synonymous with bonus money. Bonus money is usually not (yet) real money. To turn free casino bonus money into cash, you almost always need to meet certain bonus requirements. These are also known as wagering requirements or playthrough requirements.
What Is an Online Casino Deposit Bonus?
A Dutch online casino deposit bonus is the same thing as an online casino deposit bonus.
What Is an Online Casino Welcome Bonus?
Legal online casinos in the Netherlands all want you to play with them. That’s why nearly all of them offer new players a welcome bonus. Some are better than others. A Dutch online casino welcome bonus is almost always free. If you’re a new player and create an account, you receive a little gift — a way of welcoming you as a new player. That’s how you should view a welcome bonus.
The best Dutch online casino welcome bonus is a bonus without restrictive bonus conditions attached to it, such as a playthrough requirement.
What Is Playthrough?
“Playthrough” is a bonus condition. For example, a bonus condition may require you to wager the money you win with bonus funds several times before it becomes withdrawable cash.
In other words, bonus money can almost never be withdrawn directly to your bank account. A good online casino welcome bonus has no playthrough attached to it. An online casino deposit bonus almost always does.
A 1x playthrough is very favorable for you as a player. It means you only have to wager your winnings once before you can cash out. That’s a good online casino deal. A playthrough between 10x and 25x is very common and not unusual. A deposit bonus with a playthrough higher than 35x, however, is fairly rare. You’d be better off refusing that kind of bonus.
Because once you accept a bonus, you almost always play under bonus conditions - even when using your own money.
How Do I Refuse a Bonus?
An online casino bonus almost always needs to be actively accepted when you deposit money into your casino account. Usually, you’ll see an option during your deposit such as “accept bonus” or “yes, I want this online casino bonus.”
If you leave the bonus option unchecked, you’ve officially refused the bonus. Refusing an online casino bonus can, strangely enough, work in your favor.
Why Would I Refuse an Online Casino Bonus?
At many legal Dutch online casinos, the bonus conditions also apply to your own money once you accept a bonus. That means you may not be able to withdraw your deposited funds and/or winnings earned with your own money until you’ve fully cleared the bonus requirements. In other words, your money becomes “locked.”
Good, trustworthy online casinos allow you to cancel your bonus afterward if you’re in profit using your own deposited money rather than bonus money. If you cancel your bonus, you do lose the bonus funds. Not all online casinos offer the option to cancel an accepted bonus afterward.
That’s why you should always read the bonus terms before playing at an online casino. Even better: play at Oranje Palace. Oranje Palace bonuses never come with unpleasant or surprising bonus conditions for you as a player. That’s simply not how we do things at Oranje Palace. Because we’re here for our players, remember!
The best Dutch online casino is Oranje Palace. The best Dutch casino bonus can be found at Oranje Palace. No doubt about it.
What Are Annoying Bonus Conditions?
- You’re only allowed to bet a very small amount per spin on an online slot. If you accidentally bet more — because you weren’t paying attention or didn’t read the bonus terms carefully — the casino may refuse to pay out your winnings.
- You have to wager your bonus money many times before it becomes cash, meaning the casino bonus has a high playthrough requirement.
- An online casino only pays out if you complete the playthrough and still have a minimum balance left, for example at least €25.
- You have to clear your bonus within a relatively short period of time, otherwise your bonus — and everything you’ve won with it — expires.
What Does It Mean to Clear an Online Casino Bonus?
Most legal Dutch online casinos require you to wager the amount of bonus money you’ve received a certain number of times before it becomes withdrawable as real cash. This is called clearing the bonus, wagering the bonus, playthrough, or meeting the wagering requirement.
What Are Free Spins?
Free spins are an example of an online casino bonus. Many online casinos regularly give loyal players a number of free spins on a specific online slot game. For example: 10 free spins on the Random Runner slot machine.
Free spin bonuses also often come with bonus conditions — but not always. Why? Because players usually receive only a relatively small number of free spins, and the chance of hitting a jackpot with them is very low. So the online casino takes very little risk with a free spins bonus.
